Step 3: first layer of glazing on the body (yellow) + glaze for red details. See the gallery below to view the latest version. One big change I decided on this week was to paint the draperies in the background. I wasn’t going to put them in originally because I felt they looked too “stagey”, but they work in the context of the exercise.

Glad you’r enjoying these WIP pictures. It’s fun for me too, because more often than not, I’m more interested in seeing the progression than the final results.
